Measuring for a new lawn
Measuring your proposed lawn area and sketching it on graph paper will simplify your estimate process. We recommend the following formulas:
Square or rectangle
Multiply the width by the height, for example, 4.0m x 5.5m = 22 square metres
Circle
Multiply the radius by itself, and then by 3.14, for example, 4 x 4 x 3.14 = 51 square metres
Triangle
Multiply the height by the base, and divide by 2, for example, 5.0m x 6.0m / 2 = 15 square metres
Volume
Multiply the height by the base by the height, for example, 4.0m x 5.5m x 0.2m = 44 cubic metres
Bergland sods are supplied in 460mm x 740mm slabs, three slabs per square meter. Add 5% to the total order to compensate for waste.
